Leader Effectiveness Training (L.E.T.)
Leader Effectiveness Training is an intensive, skills-based training
that develops interpersonal communication and conflict resolution
competencies in managers and supervisors. Through L.E.T., your
organization’s leaders learn, practice, and understand when and
how to apply a powerful set of tools that measurably influence
their workers’ behaviors, habits and beliefs. The result is a more
productive, efficient and fulfilling workplace.
L.E.T. is based on pioneering research by Dr. Thomas Gordon, who
created the foundational systems and tools that comprise L.E.T.
The program was designed from the ground up to match the way
human beings function, with an understanding of the psychological
needs that drive people to behave the way they do. Gordon’s
books have been published in over 28 languages and over 7 million
copies have been sold worldwide. The Parent Effectiveness Training
(P.E.T.) program, which he introduced in 1962, is widely recognized
as the first skill-based training program for parents. It spawned the
widespread parent training movement in the U.S. and it has been
taught to over a million parents in over 43 countries around the
world. L.E.T. program (introduced in 1977, revised many times
since) has been taught in hundreds of corporations in the U.S. and
worldwide.
Consulting and Training Talvio [Koulutus ja työnohjaus Talvio Oy]
holds the right for training L.E.T. instructors and publishing training
material in Finland. L.E.T. lasts for 20–25 hours..
Effectiveness Training
Effectiveness Training is a course for work communities and it lasts
for 12 hours. Participants train sending and receiving messages so
that each person’s emotions and needs can be expressed. They
train solving confl icts and tackling problems so that mutual respect
is maintained.
Teacher Effectiveness Training
Teacher Effectiveness Training is a course on human relationship
skills for school personnel. It teaches interaction between students
and teachers/parents. This will allow more time for actual
teachingin class. The course lasts for 24 hours.
Cornerstones of Communication
Cornerstones of communication is an intensive course for work
communities, led by Satu Silvo and Markus Talvio. Its methods
activate participants to apply their skills in their work. The course is
tailored to suit the needs of each group and it lasts for 2-4 hours.
Supervision, Mentorship and Consulting
The purpose of supervision is to help an individual employee, team
or the whole work community to refl ect on their own activities and
behavior in their work environment and develop them to perform
better. Supervision normally takes 1–2 years.
The idea of the mentorship is to help less experienced partners to
develop their expertise, such as entrepreneurship. Mentorship
lasts normally about a year.
Consulting is often short-term, hands-on training, which may
include goals as to the content of the work. The clients defi ne the
goals they wish to reach together with the supervisor.
Lectures
Lectures can be ordered on the following topics: multi-professional
approach to work, team development, interaction skills, promotion
of welfare, multiculturalism and learning at work. The lectures are
tailored to meet the needs of each work community.
Research
You can order qualitative or quantitative research in the field of
educational psychology that analyzes the pros and cons of a course
or training project for the participants.
